Description
WP Anti-Wares is a plugin designed to find spyware/malicious code in themes. When you activate a theme from the WordPress admin area, the WP Anti-Wares plugin scans the theme files for suspicious code.

If any suspicious code is found, the plugin stops the theme from being activated. It then displays a list of the possible threats for you to review. You can continue with activating the theme if you’re satisfied that the theme isn’t malicious.

The plugin is in very early stages of development! Use at your own risk!

Installation Instructions

Unzip the wp_anti_wares_0.2.zip file into the /wp-content/plugins directory. Give write permissions to the directory, and sub directories. Finally activate the plugin from the WordPress admin area.

WordPress is a great blogging platform. The fact that themes can contain malicious code does not mean WordPress is insecure. It’s just the nature of computing.
