I’m a big fan of aLinks and enjoyed the tutorial. I was wondering if WordPress 2.5 compatibility is in works. I’m trying to activate it under a recent 2.5 build and it triggers a fatal error.

  2. Jay Cunningham Says:

Me too! I get “fatal error line 40″ Anyone have an idea about this? I’ve tried to install on a “clean” just got build wp and it still doesn’t work :(

  3. Alex Sysoef Says:

    Yep,

WP2.5 fails to play nicely with current aLinks. I would be interested to learn as well if anything is in works to address the issue?

  4. Jay Cunningham Says:

let me correct my statement. I’m having install problems on 2.3.3. Can anyone help me with “fatal error on line 40″ issue? Thanks,
    Jay Cunningham

    Hi Jay,
Can you move your question over to the forums @ http://forums.headzoo.com . That way if I manage to solve your problem, other people can find and benefit from the answer. :)

  6. adam Says:

    hey,jay.alinks can’t work with wordpress 2.5 ;-(

  7. Peter Buick Says:

    Hi Guys,
the fatal error in 1.0rc1 is because Sean has left some empty lines after the ?> php tag in many of the files, especially modules. About 20 files…

I think I have edited them all now. If Sean doesn’t mind, you can get the modified zip from my blog.

I don’t know if it because some of us have uploaded in the wrong mode (text/binary) or just because Sean uses a Mac ;-)

All I have done is trimmed the end CR’s. No warranty.
But might save you 30 minutes!

    Peter

  8. Sean Says:

    Hi Peter,
Feel free to link to the fixed version. :)
My policy these days when it comes to PHP, is to not use the closing ?> at all. That avoids those kinds of errors completely.

  9. Sean Says:

I’ve released v1.0rc2, which fixes the problem with WP2.5. I’ve also dealt with the trailing ?> issue.
